Uneven Heating While the Northern Hemisphere is angled toward the sun, through the months of April through September, that region experiences spring, summer, and early fall. As you probably already know, this is why the seasons change. This means that one hemisphere is always getting a little bit more direct exposure to sunlight than the other. The Earth is at a slight angle compared to the sun. However, while you might expect that to impact the weather, it’s actually got much less to do with the seasons and weather patterns than another odd wrinkle in the planet’s orbit: the Earth is a tiny bit crooked.
